When you think of Penn State you think of Joe Paterno. Paterno is the long time coach of the Nittany Lions and has led them to greatness year after year being one of the teams to contend with from the Big 10. Paterno has not always been at Penn State and they have always been a great team. With great teams come great players that have gone on to be great in the NFL. Here is chi flat iron a list of the top 10 NFL players that previously attended college and played football at Penn State University. 10. Marco Rivera Rivera made the Pro Bowl 3 times during his career in the NFL. Rivera was drafted to play guard in the NFL and wasn’t expected to do much as the 208th pick of the 1996 NFL draft. Rivera proved many people wrong by finishing his career strong. Rivera played in the NFL from 1997 2006.
9. Dave Robinson Robinson was a linebacker in the NFL and played 12 seasons from 1963 1974 before retiring. Robinson finished his career with 3 Pro Bowl appearances which is probably a letdown considering he was drafted 17th overall by the Chargers in the 1963 NFL draft.
8. Curt Warner Curt has the same name as a guy you may have heard of Kurt Warner. Just to mention it is not a typo and we did not switch him positions. Curt played in 3 Pro Bowls after being drafted 3rd overall by the Seahawks in the 1983 NFL draft. Curt played in the NFL from 1983 1990.
7. Chuck Drazenovich Drazenovich played linebacker in the NFL and was taken as the 82nd pick overall by the Lions in 1949. Drazenovich was selected to play in 3 Pro Bowls during his 10 seasons Cheap Hats in the NFL from 1950 1959.
6. Stew chi flat iron official website Barber Barber was drafted 30th overall by the Cowboys in the 1961 NFL draft and appeared in 5 Pro Bowls from 1961 1969. Barber was a valuable player that played tackle, center and linebacker in the NFL.
5. Lenny Moore Moore was selected to 7 Pro Bowls in his 12 seasons as a running back in the NFL. Moore was taken 9th overall by the Baltimore Ravens and dominated at Penn State before being a star in the NFL. Moore played in the NFL from 1956 1967.
4. Jack Ham Ham is now a radio announcer and was a great NFL linebacker. Ham played professionally from 1971 1982 and after 12 NFL seasons finished with 8 Pro Bowls. Ham was drafted by the Steelers 34th overall in the 1971 NFL draft.
3. Steve Wisniewski Steve was a guard in the NFL and also appeared in 8 Pro Bowls like Ham. Steve was drafted by the Cowboys with the 29th pick of the 1989 NFL draft. Steve played in the NFL from 1989 2001.
2. Mike Munchak Munchak appeared in 9 Pro Bowls in the NFL from 1982 1993. Munchak played 12 NFL seasons after being drafted by the Oilers as the 8th pick in Wholesale Snapbacks the 1982 NFL draft.
1. Franco Harris Harris is the best player to ever play in the NFL from Penn State. Harris was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame and played in the NFL from 1972 1984. Harris played 13 seasons and was selected to the Pro Bowl 9 times. Harris was drafted by the Steelers with the 13th pick of the 1972 NFL draft.
